LinksLoop is a social golf app operated by Wide Eyes Little Hands LLC (doing business as LinksLoop), based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We believe in being straightforward, so we've written this in plain language.
By using LinksLoop, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
When you create an account and use LinksLoop, you may provide:
- Account & Profile Information: Display name, email address, phone number, profile photo, golf handicap, home courses, favorite courses, golf-related interests, golf style preferences, gambling game preferences, and availability.
- Authentication Data: When you sign in with Google or Apple Sign-In, we receive your name, email address, and a unique identifier from those services. We do not receive or store your Google or Apple password.
- User-Generated Content: Posts, photos, videos, stories, comments, and text you share on the feed, in stories, or during live rounds.
- Messages: Content you send in chat during live rounds and group messages.
- Event & Round Data: Golf events you create or join, including course name, date, time, scores, leaderboard data, and live updates (photos, videos, text) during rounds.
- Social Connections: Friend requests, friend lists, blocked users, and reports you submit.
- Contacts: If you choose to use our "Find Friends" feature, we may temporarily access your device's contact list to identify people you know who are already on LinksLoop. We do not store your full contact list on our servers.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Location Data: With your permission, we access your device's location to help you find nearby golf courses, associate rounds with course locations (latitude/longitude), and provide location-relevant features. You can disable location services in your device settings, though some features may not work properly.
- Device Information: Device type, operating system version, app version, unique device identifiers, and general diagnostic data.
- Usage Data: How you interact with the app, including features used, pages viewed, session duration, and crash reports.
- Push Notification Tokens: If you enable push notifications, we collect your device token to deliver notifications about friend requests, event invites, round reminders, and other social activity.
1.3 Information from Third Parties
- Google Sign-In / Apple Sign-In: Basic profile information (name, email, unique ID) as described above.
- WeatherKit (Apple): We use Apple's WeatherKit to display weather forecasts at golf course locations. Weather data is requested based on course coordinates, not your personal location history.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and operate the app: Create and manage your account, display your profile, enable you to create and join golf rounds, post content, and connect with other golfers.
- Enable social features: Process friend requests, display feeds and stories, power live round updates and leaderboards, and facilitate in-app messaging.
- Find nearby courses: Use your location to suggest golf courses in your area.
- Show weather data: Display weather forecasts for golf courses so you can plan your rounds.
- Help you find friends: Match your contacts against existing LinksLoop users so you can connect with people you know.
- Send notifications: Alert you to friend requests, event invitations, round reminders, and other relevant activity.
- Maintain safety and security: Process user reports, enforce blocks, detect abuse or fraud, and ensure community standards are met.
- Improve the app: Analyze usage patterns, diagnose technical issues, and develop new features.
- Communicate with you: Send service-related emails or in-app messages about your account, updates to our policies, or important notices.
3. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share your information only in the following circumstances:
3.1 With Other Users
LinksLoop is a social app. Your profile information (display name, profile photo, handicap, home courses, favorite courses, interests, golf style and gambling game preferences, availability) is visible to other users based on your privacy settings. Content you post to the feed, stories, and live rounds is visible to other participants or your connections.
3.2 With Service Providers
We use third-party services that process data on our behalf:
- Google / Firebase: We use Firebase (part of Google Cloud) for authentication, data storage (Cloud Firestore), file storage (Cloud Storage), and push notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging). Google processes this data under their terms of service and privacy policy.
- Apple: We use Apple Sign-In for authentication and Apple WeatherKit for weather data.
3.3 For Legal Reasons
We may disclose your information if we believe in good faith that it is necessary to:
- Comply with a legal obligation, subpoena, or court order.
- Protect the rights, property, or safety of Wide Eyes Little Hands LLC, our users, or the public.
- Prevent fraud, abuse, or illegal activity.
3.4 Business Transfers
If Wide Eyes Little Hands LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change via email or a prominent notice in the app.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on Firebase (Google Cloud Platform) servers located in the United States. We implement industry-standard security measures, including:
- Encrypted data transmission (TLS/SSL) between the app and our servers.
- Firebase Security Rules to restrict database and storage access to authorized users.
- Secure authentication through Google Sign-In and Apple Sign-In (we never handle your third-party passwords).
- Regular review of our security practices.
While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or legitimate business purposes (such as resolving disputes or enforcing our agreements).
User-generated content that has been shared with other users (such as posts, comments, or live round data) may persist in other users' feeds or round histories even after your account is deleted, though your profile information will be anonymized.
5. Your Rights and Choices
You have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access and Update: You can view and update your profile information at any time within the app.
- Delete Your Account: You can request account deletion by contacting us at linksloopapp@gmail.com. We will process your request within 30 days.
- Location Services: You can enable or disable location access in your iOS device settings at any time.
- Push Notifications: You can manage notification preferences in your iOS device settings or within the app.
- Camera and Photos: You can control app access to your camera and photo library through your iOS device settings.
- Contacts: You can choose not to grant contact access. The "Find Friends" feature simply won't be available.
- Block and Report: You can block other users to prevent them from viewing your profile or contacting you, and you can report users who violate our community standards.
California Residents
If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. 6. Children's Privacy
LinksLoop is designed for adult golfers and is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
Users must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will promptly delete that information. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at linksloopapp@gmail.com.
Users between the ages of 13 and 17 should have a parent or guardian review this Privacy Policy before using the app.

LinksLoop integrates with the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy governing how it handles your data:

8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will:

Your continued use of LinksLoop after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
